Sunshine, speed, and a little school spirit. ☀️🏃♂️🏃♀️
Our 4th–6th graders headed to Rosholt for the ECC Track Meet and came home with tired legs, shiny hardware, and just a little extra sunshine on their faces. 😎🥇
Snacks definitely disappeared, the competition was strong, and the weather could not have been more perfect for a day at the track. A great day to be an athlete!

🎓 Congratulations to our Preschool Graduates! 🎓
You rocked your very first year of school, and we could not be more proud of all you accomplished this year! From learning letters and numbers to making friends, growing confidence, and creating so many memories — you did amazing! 💙
We can’t wait to see all the incredible things the world has in store for each of you. Keep shining, little Falcons! 🦅✨

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental illnesses are medical conditions involving changes in emotion, appetite, thinking, or behavior that can affect daily functioning.
Serious mental illness can substantially interfere with major life activities, including work, school, relationships, and self-care.
Economic instability, housing insecurity, unemployment, and limited access to healthcare can increase stress and worsen mental health conditions.
Chronic stress related to financial hardship or unstable housing can contribute to the development or worsening of serious mental illness.
Early support, including access to stable housing, employment assistance, healthcare, and community programs, improves long-term stability and well-being.
When people feel respected and understood, they are more likely to seek care and remain connected to services.

Congratulations to our 5th Grade and Preschool students on becoming published authors! 📚✨
The 5th graders created a wonderful book titled My Favorite Holiday, where each student shared about their favorite holiday and the special ways they celebrate.
Our Preschool class wrote an adorable book titled If Hopper Came to School Again…, filled with all the fun adventures they would have with him. Hopper even made a surprise visit to deliver their book!
Both classrooms worked incredibly hard on their writing, and it truly shows. We couldn’t be more proud of their creativity, effort, and accomplishments! 💙👏

Congratulations to some of our Henry Alumni and current seniors for being awarded the Edward Schwab Scholarship towards their 26-27 post secondary education in the amount of $7,240! The Recipients are: Alyssa Anderson, Natasha Huppler, Dylan Jensen, Collin Fuller, Shylynn Hansen, Aubrie Hartley, Caylin Kelly, Gannon Mohr, Brooklyn Simonton, Taylor Watson, & Trinity Watson.
A little background about the Edward Schwab Scholarship was that it was created to honor a man who was very attracted to eastern SD. Mr. Schwab was from Illinois, but came to hunt every year and eventually purchased land in the area. Since his death, the profits from the farmland each year help to provide substantial scholarships to students in the five school districts that he has purchased; Clark, Florence, Hamlin, Henry and Willow Lake. This scholarship has been awarded each year since 1998.

Way to go, Mrs. Nerison! 💛👏

The Easter Bunny’s assistant made a special appearance at Henry School! 🐰✨
Students loved meeting Stitch and learning about different types of rabbits and their unique fur. Stitch is a Mini Rex, known for her soft “rex” fur! She even showed off a few fun tricks—like spinning in a circle—and shared that she loves carrots and special treats. 🥕
Students also learned how to be gentle and quiet around animals and discovered how much care and responsibility goes into taking care of a pet.
We wish our school community a happy and safe Easter! 🌷🐣
